From her book Revelations of Divine Love, the first book in English known to be written by a woman and considered among the most remarkable literary and religious documents of the medieval age. The phrase itself establishes Julian of Norwich's place in the feminist world of women's lib today but Julian was by no means the first, or the only, writer of the Middle Ages to use feminine language for God although she was the only woman.
